Fighting the War against Procrastination

To-day we have a writing assignment. Yesterday,
We had lots of reading. And to-morrow morning,
We shall have a translation assignment. But to-day,
To-day we have a writing assignment. T
he Internet
Glistens with all its alluring procrastinations,
And to-day we have a writing assignment.

This is the thesis statement. And these
Are the chapter divisions, whose use you will see,
When you start writing the assignment. And this is the pile of books
Which in this case I might not all use. Facebook
Awaits with its funny pictures and status updates,
Which in this case I might not all comment.

These are the quotes, which are always referenced
With an easy flick of the mouse. And please do not let me
See a quote without reference. You can do it quite easy
If you have any strength in your finger. YouTube
Is filled with music videos and cute kittens cantering
none of them quoting without reference.

And this you can see is the intro. The purpose of this
Is to open the breech, as you see. We can change it
Easily from topic to topic: we call this
Easing the subject. And easily from topic to topic
People blog every mundane thing that occurs in their lives:
They call it easing the subject.

They call it easing the Topic: it is perfectly easy
If you have any brains in your head: like the thesis,
And the intro, and the references, and the subject books,
Which in this case I might not all use; and Google engines
Buzzing away as people look up everything between heaven and earth,
For to-day we have a writing assignment.

  2. Lovely parody (which is not at all easy to do)! Fun use of all the allures of the online world in the second voice...
