The duchess: The fly on the wall

Oh no the Duke is showing off that portrait again… poor duchess…

Ohh yes she looks very much alive…

You fell for her smiles, her laughter and her happiness, and she became duchess…

But you could not handle her, she was too wild.

You got jealous and obsessive, everyone liked her.

Yes you gave commands, and you expect her to obey, fool.

You like her as a painting, she cannot argue with you now, and you have her all to yourself.

You are suppose to be such a nobel man… what a joke…

You will not get his daughter now, you have reviled too much, and if you do I feel sorry for her, poor woman! And she is not an object!

Oh yes such a nice Neptune, he could tame the sea horse and you try and tame your women.

  1. Jjajjaaj... that was great... never did the "fly on the wall" become so alive as in these lines! I think it was a good background you gave to the story, making the Duke responsible in a way: he hates what he once loved.

  2. New point-of-view character! Interesting idea, and a pretty smart fly this one...

  3. Love how much the added picture did to me as a reader! I am convinced that I focused more on "being the fly" bacuse of the added picture than I would if you only wrote that the point of view was "The fly on the wall." In a way I became a fly when reading this. Well done!
