Author function: uncreative writer/philosopher. Abstract notion: creativity

Creativity is a drug I cannot live without. Another word for creativity is courage. A truly creative person rids him or herself of all self-imposed limitations. Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun. Creativity can solve almost any problem. To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. The creative act, the defeat of habit by originality, overcomes everything. Truly creative people care a little about what they have done, and a lot about what they are doing. Their driving focus is the life force that surges in them now. Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep. You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. The creative person is both more primitive and more cultivated, more destructive, a lot madder and a lot saner, than the average person. Creativity is thinking up new things. Innovation is doing new things. The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources. The world is full of objects, more or less interesting; I do not wish to add any more.

(Speculation: If another author function was chosen the content would be altogether different. Creativity can be treated in many different ways. By choosing the 'uncreative writer' as the author function I am both uncreative (none of the words are my own) and creative (all these words have, probably, never been put together in this fashion before.))

  1. I would say that your author function is the philosopher, or possibly The Philosopher!
