'Death' Through The Eyes Of The 'Philosopher'

The childish image that I had of the Grim Reaper slowly faded and made way for a much more fleeting and complex image of the term ‘Death’ when I grew up. When you grow up, you come into the contact with ‘death’ almost every day through music, films or the news. You can even put the word in front of adjectives such as artistic or creative etc., Danish politicians use the term when negotiations have collapsed and so on.

We are surrounded by the word and I think that is why we never take time to really speculate on what it means in the true form except when we experience it on a personal level. It is one of the biggest taboos of mankind and still we surround ourselves with the word. I find that very peculiar. It might be because of all this playing around with the word, that I feel almost a sense of panic when I think of the, shall we say, “Original” meaning of the word.
