Writing Game 3: The Joined - Revised

The Joined

Somebody joined me once

Joined is what I have now become

You will fail they said, but I will not

The joined have standards, they said, and you do not

But wrong they were

‘cause even the unjoined have standards, some even of the better

Unjoined standards which they carry over, and joined standards they then become

My joined and I have done this

As if a thousand sorrows suddenly merged into a fireball that ignited a flame of hope

And may our standards, born of sorrow, and cleansed by fire, forever burn bright!

  1. The fire element is a good addition, lends more interest to the text...
