Extract from Word Hoard - the words in italic constitute the phrase used in the poem:
, as well as soldiers for hire with questionable moral standards have joined the hunt.
Poem:
The Joined
Somebody joined me once
Joined is what I have now become
You will fail they said, but I will not
The joined have standards, they said, and you do not
But wrong they were
‘cause even the unjoined have standards, some even of the better
Unjoined standards which they carry over, and joined standards they then become
I like your phrase a lot - the joined have standards...
ReplyDeleteIt would be an improvement if you added a little more depth about the standards - not too much, but just enough to keep the mystery and yet put us on a track in understanding it...
