Writing Game 5 - A journey to the center of the Earth

It was around 10:30 pm when my sister and I decided to go to Saturn for the summer break. Among many other things I thought that carrying an ArmaLite Colt AR-15 gun will work since we never know what to expect when overseas. I explained her that even famous people such as John F Kennedy among others have been shot to death in their countries and obviously foreign territories would not be the exception. At first she thought it was a crazy idea but ended up agreeing with me…. Besides the colorburst of the nice view of Saturn, the first we came across with was a sign that said: “no shooting within city limits,” and from that point I knew we were screwed for the rest of the trip. We walked a little more and an owl kept steering at us. I felt uncomfortable since they are linked to bad luck but then I remembered about the Harry Potter book my sister used to read, where the author described owls as nice and gentle. We finally got to the hotel but the receptionist was gone for the day and left a “do not disturb” sign on the desk, good thing I packed a hummer to break the door lock since we were not given a key. Breakfast was served the next morning but nothing else than sweet potatoes and since my sister can’t stand them we decided to go to the restaurant next door. The restaurant was very popular in Saturn because the owner had the original Monalisa paint by Leonardo DaVinci followed by another paint that featured a goose hanging in the wall. I honestly thought the place was very clean since in the door of the kitchen a sign that said: “authorized personnel only” and the also the great “no smoking” sign everywhere. Unfortunately, the restaurant’s main dish was duck served with either yellow or red onions. We had no other option but to eat it with Heinz ketchup, salt and pepper. We also thought the guest next to us were complaining about the food too because one girl said “I can’t stand it” and the other girl asked why is that that? The first girl replied by saying “he texted me again” and the second girl response was limited to: really? Then we knew they were not talking about the food. Anyways, the good deal came at last when the server told as they had free Nestle ice cream for tasting and of course, we tried it. However, the time flew and it was time for me and my sister to go back home. We drove all night long until we saw the “road work ahead” sign; we kept on driving since we thought I was not relevant until we saw the “detour” sign and at the same time heard my sister crying like a baby saying “mommy I’m scared…” and then I realized there was no point of return to home….

  1. Very witty text - I particularly enjoyed the description of Saturn as being "overseas".

The ingredients are disguised in convincing ways, esp the signs and elements such as 'colorburst'.

The question is what kind of travel writing this is - I would certainly not consider it non-fiction at all...
