What a mighty sight he was
As he led the charge on his black destrier
Tall and dark and handsome he was
Indeed he was destined for glory
As his first blow landed
The scream inflicted fear on his remaining foes
His enormous blunt mace landed strike after strike
Crushing every unfortunate one who got in his path
This was what he was made for,
This was what he was skilled at,
This was why he was king.
I guess the author function of this text could also have been a bard. That would perhaps have added more direct praise of the king, and more detailed descriptions of the king`s fighting.
Yeah, I think you landed somewhere in the middle between bard and poet laureate...
