Naming of Parts

In her rear end you find her breech. This is where you flip her back, ease her, and cock her.

Careful though when loading her chamber, for she is capricious and has several moods. Load her with a gentle touch, and lock her slowly.

Release her safety catch with a simple flick of the thumb and switch her on simple or semi. Let your finger rest along her slide. Do not touch her trigger, but hold her tightly and let your finger slide down towards her lower region and locate her trigger.

Cock and slide her back and forth as you please, but make sure not to jam her spring and lugs. Now flip her safety catch, move your finger and let her go.

This is the naming of parts.

  1. Parody, rather than pastiche, I think... Do you agree?

  2. Considering the structure of the text, I would still go for "pastiche" (though it is certainly also a parody). So, I guess, I disagree.

  3. The structure is not so determining of the pastiche/parody distinction. The intention and tonality is, though. As for the intention, one has little choice but to ask the author, but then the author may not be the final authority if he/she chooses to lie... As for tonality, the jocund and somewhat coarse tone and earthy subject matter of your text tilts it towards parody (not that that is a bad thing at all)...

  4. I see. Interesting and very helpful. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you.
