My God this really sucks! She thought as she was once again stuck.
Writing this article wasn’t as easy as she had hoped and now she was having computer problems as well.
This really isn’t my month. I should just declare my life a disaster, give up, go somewhere else and start all over. If I could at least just get away from him or more accurately from having to see him with her, crap! Stop it! You promised not to think about it!
The don’t-think-about-an-elephant syndrome. You can never really avoid it and she was having severe problems with it. Of course, when your boyfriend dumps you for your best friend and the main interview in the article you were to write was with that “friend”, then it becomes rather difficult to avoid thinking about it.
Hmm, yeah! I fixed it! Stupid computer! She had been trying to make the computer do as she wanted for half an hour now, but things were looking up now. She could finally finish the damn article and get that chapter of her life over with.
“Oh no! No, no, no, no! No, please! Don’t do this to me! The deadline is tomorrow and I can’t redo the interview! Please don’t crash on me now! “ She was pleading with the computer, but it seemed that it wasn’t very interested in her arguments.
The computer was now showing an error screen and then suddenly it went black.
Nice job :) My guess is that you got inspired by our Framing class?? :)
ReplyDeleteGood job! I really like your story :)
ReplyDeleteOuch, everyone's worst nightmare - well, this is one way of writing about frustration in a non-frustrating way, I guess. Good job catching the character, and captivating the reader at the same time!
