Writing a Poem
You can stop start a poem
rub the textures of its pen
or fly across the keyboard
deleting phrases at a whim
but you can’t stop the motion
of a thought breaking in
an eternal starting notion:
that you never will begin.
Good metapoem, nice meter that flies like the thoughts in the poem itself also do. I wonder if the "eternal starting notion" could be improved upon, though? Is it 'eternally starting" or perhaps even "startling"?
Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment.
