Another Naming of Parts

The naming of parts is today. Yesterday
And the day before yesterday was shooting
And theory. Today however is the naming of
Parts.

Here is the horizontal shutter, and there is
the vertical shutter button. I’ll show you its use
as soon as you are ready to shoot.

This is the F-mount and there is the EF-mount both
Of which is used to attach an import part.
To use this you have to screw the missing part on clockwise,
And then you’re almost ready to shoot.

At the bottom the battery compartment is found.
The life and juice for the unit is inserted here.
Now you’re almost ready to shoot.

On the front part of the unit, close to the mount
You find the aperture ring, and at the front of this element
You find the focus ring. Now you’re ready to shoot.

Adjust the aperture ring, then the focus ring, and now for the
Last part is the shutter. Adjust it for the correct exposure
And then press the shutter button.

Tomorrow is the shooting and composition,
But today was the naming of parts

War between Mathematics and Linguistics

(Pastiche – metaphorical war)

To-day we have naming of parts. Yesterday,
We had introduction. And to-morrow morning,
We shall have what to do after theory. But to-day,
To-day we have naming of parts. The plot lacks,
it needs to be redefined,
And to-day we have naming of parts.

This is the yearly employment graph. And this
Is the evaluation statistics, whose use you will see,
When you are given your graphs. And this is the
unemployment statistics,
Which in your case you have not got. The characters
pursue all shortcomings, no development,
Which in our case we have not got.

This is the tax records, which are always close by
with an easy click of a finger. It is simple,
there is no need to complicate it. You can do it quite easy
If you have any analytical sense. The setting
lacks ideas and mesmerizing depth. Indeed,
there is no need to complicate it.

And this you can see is the accounting papers. The purpose of this
Is to discover a correlation , you see. We can compare it to tax records,
both from past calculations and prognoses: we call this
fine-tuning your book. Past calculations and prognoses,
The characters are fleshed out, creating the story for you,
They call it fine-tuning your book.

They call it fine-tuning your book: it is perfectly easy
If you have any analytical sense: like the tax records,
And the accounting, and the monthly finances, and the unemployment statistics,
Which in our case we have not got; and the story
plot,
with the characters placed in the setting and ambiguously built up,
For to-day we have naming of parts.

Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain 14th, august 1954

My journey led me to a province in Catalonia, Spain, called Tarragona.
I am sitting outside a little bar attached to a station in No-man's-land. Waiting for a train to take me to Barcelona. I followed the Ebro for a while now. Here, the hills across the valley of the Ebro are long and white. On this side there is no shade and no trees. The summer is at its climax. Even if I had the time it would be too hot to explore the countryside further. Therefor I have to rely on everything I see from this perspective. The hills are white in the sun, reminding me of white elephants. The country is brown and dry. A warm wind blows through the area. I saw fields of grain and trees along the banks of the Ebro on the other side of the station. There are mountains beyond. I will come back and deepen my survey.
I have to catch my train. A young couple and several people from inside the bar follow me to the platform.

The Sarcastic Prophet | Notion: War

“Hear ye, hear ye! Ladies and gentlemen, glorious citizens of Denmark! I know you take a lot of pride in your country and ideals – your democracy and freedom of speech alike. And you have every right to do so, for you are very powerful indeed. Everyone should be more like you!

I have seen that which you have done, and I bring thee good tidings: the future holds even more glory for you than the past. Your desire to do good deeds in the world does not pass unnoticed; God himself has seen your magnificent submarine in action – or ready for it, at least. Oh yes, indeed, your ambition and will to make changes is in the world through war is unmatched! The future brings more possibilities for you, and your United States friends are counting on your invaluable assistance. New conflicts shall arise, and together, you shall be the solution to these. Everyone is counting on you.

With “great” power comes great responsibility. Do not let the world down!“

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Had I chosen another author function, the message would lose some of its impact in terms of predetermination and heroism - Denmark would not be presented in the same 'epic' tone. The epic tone carries a lot of the sarcastic meaning, so some of that would be lost.

I do not want to be rude…..

But could you please give me your undivided attention for the next thirty seconds? Attention is a pretty interesting concept, given that it often acts as a large motivator for why people act as they do.
No, attention is probably not the correct term to use here, rather the need for it. Let us be honest here for a second: Human beings crave attention.

Yes, even you, child.

It is okay to shake your head and go “nu-uh”, but it is the reason you post every obsessive detail, every worthless little happening in your life on Facebook, the reason your picture folder has a thousand pictures, ten for each time you saw a mirror. It is this vague, onanistic notion providing you with the validation which you crave, this feeling that people are boundlessly interested in what goes on in your life. The internet helps to fuel this, your addiction, with this omnipotent feeling of being able to access all the information in the world.

Not to worry though, I promise not to tell anyone about the truth of it all, for I am the same. I need this just as much as you. After all, I made this blog.

Notion: Craving attention
Author function: Blogger. I guess it would have been more detached and clinical had I used a different author approach. It also ended up sounding really pretentious and stupid.

A Trobairitz writing about love

The Love Between Us Two

Here I stand, my prince in blue,
And there you are, of all above
To praise your virtues I will do,
A verse, a canso or Courtly Love.

My powerful Viking
You need to know first
Your charms are more than striking.
And in our love, I am immersed.

To you I say, Gaucho of mine
Things were difficult in this strange land,
But our love, like wine, gets better with time
Only because we always walk hand in hand.

My Caballero Andante without a horse
You gallantly raise your sword at any call
Of comfort your heart is an unlimited source
You have protected me against it all.

My sweet Mariachi, shedding a new light,
You sang no serenatas, but a poem or two did recite,
You made me fall for you, love at first sight
You fell for me too and kissed me at night.

My prince charming, mine alone
I must confess a proper canso I failed to do
But poems can be more creative than a rigid stone,
These lines from my heart are dedicated to you.

My prince in blue,
I am in love with our love
I am in love with you.

Author function: hypothetical author. Abstract notion: Zodiac Sign

If I had been born a week earlier I would have been born a Cancer – instead I have been born a Leo. “And what does that do”, one might ask. To that I say, “Everything changes!”

See if I had been born a Cancer I would have been in balance with myself since a Cancer is a water element. As a Leo I am feisty and verbal, because I am born as a fire element. If I had been born a Cancer I might never have pulled a girl from class’ ponytail when I was seven. She might not have told on me and I might not have been sent to the principal’s office. Simply because she was a water element and I was a fire element.

If I had been born a Cancer instead of a Leo my favourite animal might have been a dolphin instead of a lion. My favourite movie might have been ‘Free Willy’ as opposed to ‘The Lion King’ and I might have been better at drawing killer whales than lions and cubs.

If my birthday was a week earlier I would have been born on a Monday. I would have been the best beginning to a week instead of the perfect ending to one. I might also have received a stuffed teddy bear instead of the stuffed white rabbit as a toy from my sister on my birthday. And finally if I had been born as a Cancer not a Leo I might have lived a life totally different from the one I live right now. In an alternative universe I am a Cancer not a Leo.

Exquisite Corpse

His hungry drapes rises the contagious ice-cream.

The little duck ate the remaining fruit-cake.

A large man took a delicious piece.

Her profound glory easily ruins his choice.

The killer tiger goes over the pretty field
